COMMUNITY CORNER

Amenity Yoga's Partnership with Chicago Booth and Future Growth Plans

📣Providing a platform for wellness advocates

For the past three years, Amenity Yoga has partnered with the Booth School of Business to build a wellness community by empowering students to lead their peers in yoga and mindfulness classes. Amenity Yoga recruits Booth students who are certified yoga instructors and provides them with the structure, resources, and programming needed to teach yoga and mindfulness to their fellow MBAs three days a week.

👥Community wellness led by peers

Led by Booth alum Erin Martell, ’22, Amenity Yoga’s mission is to build wellness communities from within. The model harnesses the skills of internal wellness advocates, like Booth students who are also certified yoga instructors, to create sustainable well-being programs. This peer-led approach ensures that wellness becomes a natural part of daily life, taught by people who understand the unique pressures of the Booth community because they are part of it.

🤝Collaboration with Booth’s wellness department

Amenity Yoga works closely with the wellness department at Booth to coordinate class schedules, provide marketing materials, and generate feedback and attendance reports. This close collaboration ensures program performance and customer success, making the partnership more impactful and streamlined.

🚀Amenity Yoga’s future plans

After seeing the success at Booth, Amenity Yoga aims to expand this model to corporations by training employees to become wellness advocates within their own companies. The goal is to empower professionals to lead yoga, mindfulness, and wellness initiatives, helping build a wellness culture that thrives from within the workplace.

Meet Alison, a Corporate Professional and Wellness Advocate

🗽JP Morgan alum, MBA candidate and yoga instructor

Alison started her career in sales and client relationship management at JPMorgan Chase in New York City before returning to school for her MBA. She is now a second-year MBA candidate at Chicago Booth, focusing on entrepreneurship. 🩰Ballet in her early years inspired a love of movement

Alison’s path to becoming a certified yoga instructor stems from her lifelong passion for movement, which began with her dance training at the Washington School of Ballet. For Alison, yoga is more than physical fitness—it’s a way to combine the mental and physical aspects of health. As an instructor, she finds joy in helping others on their personal wellness journeys.

👣Living well through daily movement

Alison defines wellness as taking care of oneself—physically, emotionally, and mentally—and believes in extending that care to others. Her personal routine centers around daily movement, whether it’s long outdoor walks or her newfound love for hiking.

💪Empowering others through Amenity Yoga
